Rewards

Our staff are skilled enough to understand that the best behaviour management strategies focus on positive behaviour. Positive behaviour is discussed at every admission meeting at New Leaf School. We are keen on rewarding positive behaviour at New Leaf School by using our schools reward card. All pupils will earn points through the week; enabling them to access the rewards curriculum for instance a trip to a park, baking or film club.

Students are all encouraged to follow three basic expectations: Ready, Respectful, Safe:

  • I am ready - to learn. At the start of the day I hand in phones and other items as requested. I go to my lessons and attempt to engage.

  • I am respectful - to adults, students and the school environment. I am polite and use kind language. I look after the resources I use and respect school property.

  • I am safe - in and around the building. I behave in a way that ensures my safety and the safety of those around me.

Pupils will also have the opportunity to earn raffle tickets for positive behaviour, both in class and around school. A raffle ticket will be entered into a weekly draw where pupils have the chance to earn something from the rewards box.

Other positive rewards include:

  • Weekly Headteachers Certificate to take home;
  • Positive phone call for parents;
  • Praise throughout school;
  • Friday breakfast morning for pupil of the week;

KS3 Rewards

KS3 pupils had the chance to experience Go-karting as part of one of our recent rewards trips. It was great to see a friendly but competitive race, with all pupils coming off the track smiling after having lots of fun. Congratulations to the winner and all racers!
